Communications Commission

London Assembly

20th May 2011

From the Communications Commission of ‘Democracia Real Ya’ (‘Real

Democracy Now’) in London (formed during a meeting on May 19th, 2011)

we wish to communicate that we are a group of ordinary people,

demonstrating because we believe that this historical moment forces a

call to action, to protest and to rebel peacefully.

Because of that reason and since last May 15th, we are rallying

opposite the Spanish Embassy in London every evening from 7pm. These

are ‘Static Demonstrations’ summoned via social networks, and never

through any political party or association of any kind.

We are not Anti-System, the System is Anti-Us.

Everyone attends freely representing him or herself, following which

three commissions have been put together: Communications, Art and

Logistics.

This movement, May 15-Take To The Streets, is only the beginning of an

arduous fight to effectively achieve that we stop being considered and

treated as ‘merchandise in the hands of bankers and politicians’. We

say NO to the financial tyranny and its devastating consequences.

Whether progressives or conservatives; religious or non-religious; of

defined ideologies or apolitical. What brings us all together in this

case is a feeling of concern and indignation caused by the political

and economical landscape. Caused by the defencelessness of us all

before it.

We will follow the Icelandic people’s model, as through their peaceful

revolution they successfully managed to topple their government and

write a new constitution, as well as imprison those responsible for

the country’s economic debacle.
